The Benefits of Drinking Spring Water

Why would I drink water from a pipe coming out by the side of a country road when I can turn on any faucet in my house and have running water on demand?

For the same reason that many other people drive out to fresh springs to gather water for themselves and their families: because it tastes better, it’s cleaner, and it’s the healthiest water for our bodies.

If you gather spring water, you’ll often find other people there as well, and may have to wait your turn, because drinking spring water has many passionate devotees. You may meet people at the spring who are brand new to gathering their water straight from the earth, and you will also meet people who have been drinking spring water exclusively for years and decades.

I’ve been drinking water from springs for over 20 years. The first time I learned about gathering water from free springs, I was in Olympia, Washington, and was brought to the local spring by a friend to refill our water bottles on our way to go hiking. I was skeptical that the water was really clean to drink because it came out of a pipe in the middle of a parking lot downtown! I was assured that it was tested to be safe to drink and that people had been drinking from this water for years. Driving up and seeing others waiting to fill their bottles reassured me. Tasting the water for myself made me a convert, for it was cold, fresh, and invigorating in a way that bottled or tap water cannot compare with.

Over the years since, I have enjoyed searching out clean sources of spring water in many places that I have traveled. I have filled my bottles from taps coming out of mountainsides, along winding scenic roads, from friendly local businesses who allow access to their springs on private property (with permission), and in desert canyons.

I’ve become a huge fan of fresh spring water—both cold springs for drinking and hot springs for soaking. If you haven’t discovered the joy of fresh spring water, it’s amazing and I recommend looking for springs near you or on your travels. But there are a few things to know to safely engage in enjoying spring water.

Always make sure that the spring you are gathering water from is safe and has been tested for purity. The website FindaSpring.com is a good resource for finding a spring around the world and reading local reviews. Most good springs are popular among locals and well-marked, have parking areas, signage, and regular testing. I have not had any bad reactions from drinking spring water, but I’ve only gathered water from popular, well-loved, and cared for springs with good reviews.

Benefits of Drinking Spring Water

Indoor plumbing provides water on demand to our kitchens and bathrooms which is very convenient. However, when you turn on the faucet in America, you are likely to have water contaminated with industrial chemicals, including pesticides, fertilizers, fluoride, and pharmaceutical drugs.

A glass of water should be beneficial for our health, not secretly harming our bodies with synthetic hormones, antibiotics, mood-altering drugs, opioids, painkillers, and immunosuppressants.

The synthetic chemicals and pharmaceuticals lurking in city water include endocrine-disruptors causing hormone imbalance and fertility issues. While public health officials may think that trace amounts of hormones and pharmaceuticals are not a significant risk to immediate health, the danger of long-term exposure to hundreds of pharmaceuticals and synthetic chemicals in our water supply over years and decades has not been thoroughly evaluated.

The spring water that I love to drink is that which bubbles up from aquifers deep below the surface of the earth and is not contaminated by agricultural run-off, chemicals, or bacteria. Pressure from within the aquifer forces the water to flow up to the surface where it can be harvested directly from its source.

One of the biggest benefits of spring water is that it is living water. The Austrian inventor Viktor Schauberger discovered in the 1930s that water takes on a hexagonal structure when vortexed as it is naturally in the wild in springs and rivers. However, when water is directed through straight pipes and with right angle turns that is de-structures the water. Schauberger’s research on living water has been applied to many disciplines from energy and transportation to health.

When water is vortexed is tastes smoother, hydrates our bodies better, and eliminates toxins from our bodies efficiently. Pure spring water spirals as it rises from deep under the earth providing us with naturally structured water that is the way we should be drinking it.

Dr. Gerald Pollack has discovered through his ground-breaking research that structured living water is the fourth phase of water, and the impact of this information upon our health is vital for optimal living. This kind of water is negatively charged, filled with energy, and could solve many energy problems in the world.

You can enjoy the benefits of living structured water for yourself through drinking clean fresh spring water, vortexing your water, and eating high-hydration fruits and vegetables.

I highly recommend becoming a water gatherer! It’s a wonderful way to enjoy the benefits of the earth’s best drinking water, fully hydrate your cells, and learn about our natural resources.

All you need is a clean container and a map, and bring your family and friends along for a refreshing adventure!

Many blessings,
